How to have a healthy new year: Set goals and a vision for your life
By Najja R. Orr, DBA, FCPP, PCA President & CEO
As we move into a new year, let’s reflect and set intentions for the life we’d like to create. January helps us to remember that every day matters. The new year is a time to care for ourselves. It’s also the perfect time to set goals that give us joy and meaning.
This is the time to start investing in yourself – your health, your relationships and everything that gives life meaning. Small steps matter. Being active, trying new things and staying connected all help you build a healthier, more balanced life.
At PCA, we are inspired by the resilience and determination of older adults and people with disabilities.
We remain committed to supporting their independence, well-being and quality of life through our programs, services and community partnerships.
As you set your intentions for this year, keep in mind that the progress made starts with small steps. Self-care is a foundation to living well. Take time to celebrate your achievements; seek support when needed; and approach each day with curiosity, hope and compassion.
Let’s dedicate 2026 to health, connection and purpose. We at PCA wish you a happy, healthy and fulfilling new year. We thank you for helping us build a community where older adults can be connected with everything they need to stay healthy and independent.
