PCA to host two virtual health self-management programs beginning in September
Ready to take charge of your health? PCA will host two virtual health self-management programs beginning in September. Each six-week program will be held virtually through Zoom and is free to adults 60 and older. Participants will receive their program materials in the mail.
Common Threads: Diabetes Self-Management Program
Dates: September 21, 28, October 5, 12, 19, and 26
Time: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Participants will learn about making a healthy eating plan, managing blood sugar levels, balancing eating, physical activity and medications to prevent problems as well as managing diabetes-specific problems.
Help Yourself to Health: Chronic Disease Self-Management Program
Dates: September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 and November 4
Time: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Participants will learn tips and strategies to take charge of their chronic conditions such as heart disease, arthritis and lung disease. Topics include dealing with fatigue, working with health providers, physical activity, addressing poor sleep, problem solving and becoming more involved in everyday activities.
