Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) hosted its annual Latino Senior Citizens Conference on October 12 at the Saint John Neumann Center. This full-day event focused on empowering, educating, and celebrating Philadelphia’s Latino senior community. Attendees began their day with breakfast and visited exhibitor tables featuring local service providers.

After a warm welcome from Maria Fontánez, Lissette Ramos Sarfraz, and Jalexa Marmolejos, the audience enjoyed a lively dance performance by Grupo Alegria. The morning sessions included essential topics on positive emotional health and self-esteem led by Ana Vinaixa, as well as chronic health conditions in older adults, presented by Dr. Max E. Mercado. Following a short break, Daisy Gonzalez from JP Morgan Chase offered insights into financial planning and budgeting, and the program continued with an energizing Zumba session led by Monica De Leon.

The event concluded with lunch, music, and exciting giveaways, offering a blend of education, entertainment, and community-building. This conference reflects PCA’s commitment to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for older adults in Philadelphia’s Latino community.
