Wellness is often found in everyday moments
By Najja R. Orr, DBA, FCPP PCA President & CEO
A warm greeting at a senior center. A shared meal with friends. A caregiver receiving support during a challenging time. These moments help older adults stay connected, maintain independence, and enjoy a higher quality of life.
At PCA, wellness extends beyond physical health. It includes feeling safe, valued, and connected. It means having the support needed to remain active in the communities people know and love.
That is why PCA’s work goes beyond services alone. Through nutritious meals, caregiver support, senior center activities, health promotion programs, and other resources, PCA supports the well-being of older Philadelphians in meaningful, everyday ways.
Our annual Fall Fundraiser helps make this work possible. Support from our community helps reduce loneliness, supports caregivers, and ensures that older adults can access the services they need to remain healthy and independent.
The Fall Fundraiser benefits PCA’s Rodney D. Williams Philadelphia Fund for Seniors. This fund supports essential services that help older adults maintain their health, independence, and quality of life while aging in place.
As we celebrate National Wellness Month, I want to thank our community partners and supporters. Your support of PCA helps older adults across Philadelphia live with dignity, good health and strong social connections.
