PCA’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Featured on 6abc’s Art of Aging
Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program was recently featured on 6abc’s Art of Aging segment, highlighting how the program helps older adults access fresh, locally grown produce.
Filmed at the East Passyunk Farmers Market outside the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center, the segment showed how PCA connects eligible older Philadelphians with produce vouchers that can be used at participating farmers markets across Pennsylvania.
PCA Special Projects Coordinator Emily Flanders explained that eligible Philadelphia County residents age 60 and older can receive five $5 vouchers, totaling $25, to purchase Pennsylvania-grown fruits and vegetables. She also discussed PCA’s commitment to supporting healthy lifestyles and improving the quality of life for older adults throughout Philadelphia.
Older adult center members shared their appreciation for the convenience of having a farmers market located near the center and for the quality and variety of fresh produce available.
Produce vouchers are available at participating PCA senior centers on designated distribution dates and at PCA headquarters, located at 642 N. Broad Street, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through September 30, 2026, or while supplies last. Vouchers may be redeemed through November 30, 2026.
Distribution schedules and additional program information are available at PCACares.org. Older adults who need assistance may also contact the PCA Helpline at 215-765-9040.
