PCA’s “50 Years of Aging with You!” celebration exceeds $200,000 fundraising goal!
Thank you to our sponsors and donors!
On the evening of Thursday, September 14, PCA marked five decades of serving older adults and individuals with disabilities with an elegant affair at its headquarters in the historic Wallace Building on North Broad Street.
Approximately 150 guests were in attendance for the event, including representatives from the nearly ninety corporate sponsors. Gross proceeds in the amount of $203,000 were raised for the Rodney D. Williams Philadelphia Fund for Seniors.
The 7,000 square foot space on the sixth floor, with exposed wooden beams and columns as well as large windows on all sides, was transformed to create an industrial chic setting with a panoramic view of the city. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the jazz and Latin-inspired sounds of Glenn Bryan & Friends, led by PCA’s newly-elected board chair, Glenn Bryan.
A short presentation, featuring emcee Najja R. Orr, president and CEO, highlighted some of PCA’s accomplishments over the past 50 years.
Additional speakers were outgoing PCA board chair, Dr. Satya Verma; PCA’s COO Laura Weinbaum, who introduced PCA’s co-grand marshals during the entire 50th anniversary year, WPVI-TV news veterans, Lisa Thomas Laury and Vernon Odom; Joel TeBeest, PCA’s CFO; and Kortney Cruz, Senior VP of Independence Blue Cross.
Additional funds were raised from a wide variety of exciting auction items. Prime among them were two tickets to an Eagles suite, a week at an Irish cottage, a Southern barbeque party for 20 people, and tickets to a range of entertainment and sporting events.
PCA is eternally grateful to our generous sponsors and donors who contributed to an amazing 50th anniversary celebration.
