PCA proudly presents its 2024 virtual Celebrate Arts & Aging exhibit

John Deangelis

In conjunction with Older Americans month in May, PCA commemorates its 22nd annual Celebrate Arts & Aging (CAA) exhibition of artwork by artists 55+. The event features more than 165 paintings, drawings, prints and photographs that have been created by older adults (including three centenarians), highlighting the fact that age is just a number and aging is a period of immense growth and productivity. The exhibition runs from May 1-31.

This year’s Celebrate Arts & Aging exhibition is a hybrid event, offering an in-person connection and the opportunity to reach a larger audience virtually. The full collection of original artwork created by older adult artists has been compiled into a virtual show (see below).

PCA’s Celebrate Arts & Aging also features three in-person exhibits of selected artwork on display for public viewing in May at the following locations, days, and times:

  • Parkway Central Library, First Floor, West Gallery, 1901 Vine St. | Public viewing: Monday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Artists’ reception: Wednesday, May 8, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
  • South Philadelphia Older Adult Center, 1430 E. Passyunk Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19147 | Public viewing: Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Artists’ reception: Thursday, May 23, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Center on the Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave., behind the Presbyterian Church | Public viewing: Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Artists’ reception: Thursday, May 30, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.

PCA’s 2024 Celebrate Arts & Aging is sponsored by PECO, Always Best Care Senior Services, and Independence Blue Cross.
