PCA Brings Clergy and Community Partners Together for a Meaningful Conversation on Wellness
PCA’s Clergy Interfaith Coalition Meeting brought faith leaders and community partners together for a thoughtful and informative program centered on mental health, suicide prevention, wellness, and movement therapy. Held at Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s offices on North Broad Street, the meeting created space for dialogue, learning, and reflection on how clergy and service providers can work together to support older adults in a holistic way. The event also reinforced the important role faith communities can play in promoting emotional well-being and connecting individuals to care and support.
Throughout the program, attendees had the opportunity to engage with topics that are increasingly important in communities across Philadelphia. By focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, the meeting highlighted the need for compassion, awareness, and practical tools to help individuals facing emotional challenges. The inclusion of wellness and movement therapy also emphasized the connection between physical health, mental well-being, and quality of life, especially for older adults.
PCA was also honored to welcome Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich during the day’s program, adding a meaningful dimension to the gathering. His visit underscored the importance of collaboration among state leaders, community-based organizations, and faith communities in addressing the needs of older adults and strengthening support systems throughout the commonwealth. Together, the meeting reflected PCA’s ongoing commitment to fostering partnerships that help older Philadelphians age with dignity, connection, and care.
