National Liberty Museum Hosts “Equitable Voting Roundtable”
Yesterday, the National Liberty Museum held an insightful and impactful “Equitable Voting Roundtable,” moderated by Speaker Joanna McClinton. This event brought together community leaders, advocates, and concerned citizens to discuss critical strategies for engaging all communities in the democratic process. The primary focus was on ensuring that every individual has the necessary knowledge and understanding to vote and participate fully in democracy.
Among the esteemed speakers, Najja R. Orr, President & CEO of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA), delivered a compelling address on behalf of older adults. Orr highlighted the unique challenges that older adults often face when trying to engage in the voting process. These challenges can range from physical and cognitive barriers to a lack of access to information and resources.
The “Equitable Voting Roundtable” served as a powerful platform for discussing actionable solutions to make voting more inclusive and accessible for all. The event underscored the collective responsibility of society to support and empower every voter, particularly those who are often marginalized or face additional challenges.
PCA is proud to have been represented at this event and remains committed to advocating for the rights and participation of older adults in all facets of civic life. PCA will continue to work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable voting process for our community.
