Free Public Wi-Fi Now Available in Many Philadelphia Neighborhoods
The City of Philadelphia is working to make sure everyone can get online, especially older adults. With a new agreement with Verizon, free public Wi-Fi is being added to more than 180 locations across the city. This includes libraries, recreation centers, older adult centers, parks and museums.
This effort is part of a partnership between the Office of Innovation and Technology and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. Since October 2024, more than 50 locations have already been set up with fast internet access and service, and more are coming soon. To help residents find these locations, the city created a simple online tool called the Philly Free Wi-Fi Finder. You can search by your zip code or neighborhood to find nearby spots with free internet.
This is a great resource if you don’t have internet at home or need a place to connect while out and about in the community. If you are checking e-mail, joining a video call, or reading the news, public Wi-Fi can help you stay connected for free!
