EnhanceFitness: Getting fit is a whole lot more fun
There’s a fitness program designed for older adults that is free and easy to access. No expensive gym membership or health insurance is required. EnhanceFitness is a lively, hour-long exercise class filled with variety. Participants enjoy it: 99.4% would recommend this program to a friend, according to a survey by Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA).
EnhanceFitness combines the three key components of fitness:
• Strength training using light weights
• Flexibility and balance increases range of motion to help prevent falls
• Aerobic and cardiovascular exercise improves walking and breathing
To ensure safety, each movement was developed by experts in physical therapy and aging services experts. The result is a fun and lively program that works.
New to exercise? Don’t worry. You can work out at your own pace. The energetic, certified instructor will provide individual attention and demonstrate modifications. All participants can find a level that is perfect for their fitness level and ability.
Expect a casual atmosphere. Classes begin slowly with a warm-up period and finish with a cool-down session.
