Do you drink 6 to 8 glasses of water each day? If you don’t like the taste of plain water, you may not be staying properly hydrated. Here are some easy – and healthy – ways to improve the taste of water without adding sugar or excess calories.

MAKE IT SPICY

Spicy margarita: In a jug, mash one peeled, seeded cucumber and one seeded, sliced jalapeño pepper. Add ice and one liter of water. Refrigerate for two hours before serving.

Lemon tart: Juice one lemon. Add one liter of water and ice. Stir in one teaspoon of cayenne pepper.

Peachy ginger: Muddle one peach. Add one liter of water and ice. Stir in eight thin slices of peeled ginger.

SPA SENSATIONS

Cool cucumber: In a jug, add one peeled, seeded and sliced cucumber; 10 torn mint leaves; and the juice of half a lime. Add ice and one liter of water. Refrigerate for two hours before serving.

Burr blues: Muddle a ¼-cup of blueberries, then add to a jug with the juice of half a lime and three torn basil leaves. Add ice and a liter of either flat or sparkling water.

(Honey)dew it up right: Add 1 ½ cups of cubed honeydew melon and ¾ cup of halved grapes to a jug. Add ice and one liter of water. Refrigerate for two hours before serving.
