Bill Conallen

The second day of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s 2025 Regional Conference on Aging wrapped up with a series of engaging workshops focused on trauma-informed care, mental health, and innovative long-term care solutions for older adults.

Sessions explored topics such as supporting socially isolated family caregivers through trauma-informed approaches, using behavioral activation to treat depression, addressing trauma among aging veterans, balancing resident autonomy with safety, and transforming care for older adults with serious mental illness through cross-sector collaboration.

Breakout groups throughout the day provided valuable opportunities for attendees to brainstorm, exchange ideas, and build connections with peers across the aging network. The collaborative discussions underscored the conference’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and partnership in serving Philadelphia’s older adults and their caregivers.
