Companionship in Action: PCA Program Featured on 6abc’s Art of Aging

PCA’s Senior Companion Program was recently featured on 6abc’s Art of Aging, highlighting how the program helps older adults thrive at home through companionship, friendly visits and meaningful social connection.

The segment showcases the relationship between Senior Companion volunteer Marguerite Spann and program participant Edna Cain, offering a powerful example of how regular companionship can help reduce isolation and support older adults in remaining engaged in their communities. Through visits, conversation and encouragement, Senior Companions provide meaningful support that can make a lasting difference in the daily lives of older adults.

Andrea DeLoatch, PCA’s assistant director of community engagement, also appeared in the segment to discuss the importance of the program and how it supports PCA’s mission to help older Philadelphians remain connected, independent and supported in their homes.

PCA’s Senior Companion Program connects older adults with trained senior volunteers who provide friendship and social support to help participants maintain their independence and quality of life.
