The Clergy Interfaith Coalition Meeting, hosted by Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) on Thursday, March 20, 2025, brought together faith leaders, caregivers, and community members to discuss the importance of social engagement for older adults. The event featured a keynote presentation from the National Association of Long-Term Care Volunteers, which highlighted ways to combat isolation and foster meaningful connections for seniors.

Panel discussions focused on key programs that help older adults stay connected, including ARTZ Philadelphia, the Foster Grandparents Program, the Ombudsman Program, and the Senior Companion Program. Attendees also heard powerful testimonials from individuals who have benefited from these programs, reinforcing the positive impact of social connections on overall well-being.

“Social connections are vital to the well-being of older adults,” said Mark Kendrick, PCA’s Clergy Interfaith Outreach Coordinator. “This event was an important opportunity to bring together faith leaders and community partners to discuss how we can work together to combat isolation and ensure that all older adults have opportunities to engage and thrive.”

The meeting fostered meaningful discussions on strengthening support networks for seniors and encouraged collaboration among attendees to enhance social opportunities for older adults in the community.
