Building Resilience, Transforming Lives: Emergency Fund Coalition Marks 44 Years of Impactful Aid for Older Philadelphians
Last week, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) held its Annual Emergency Fund Coalition Luncheon at the Hilton in celebration of the Emergency Fund’s impact and its 44th anniversary.
The coalition honored Peter Olster, Owner of Betty the Caterer Inc., with the Bright Star of Aging Award for his commitment and vision in establishing quality and accessible home delivered meals for older adults throughout Philadelphia. It also recognized recipients of the PCA Community Service Awards for their dedicated service to seniors. Awardees included Barbara Davis of Journey’s Way, Bethzaida Butler Lopez of Catholic Housing and Community Services as well as Karen L. Chenoweth of Evolent Health. Finally, the fund bestowed the lifetime achievement award to retired PCA Community Relations Manager Roger Moore.
