A Day of Wellness, Wisdom & Connection

Bill Conallen

Aging Gracefully: A Women’s Forum for the Mind, Body and Soul brought together community members, health professionals, and Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) staff for a morning focused on promoting wellness, resilience, and connection among women as they age. The program began with registration and exhibitor visits, followed by opening remarks from PCA Community Engagement Director Wanda Mitchell and facilitation by Community Relations Manager Lissette Sarfraz. Attendees also heard a presentation on emotional regulation from Victoria Wilmore of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, highlighting strategies to support mental and emotional well-being.

The forum continued with opportunities for participants to engage in self-care and build community through a chair yoga session led by Christe Lee, interactive group activities facilitated by PCA staff, and dedicated networking time over lunch. Throughout the event, attendees connected with exhibitors and learned about valuable community resources, reinforcing the importance of supporting women’s physical, emotional, and social well-being while aging gracefully.
